Code that roams the codebase aimlessly, not alive (used) but refusing to die, much like a character in a zombie show who just won't stay down.

Etymology

From the concept of 'undead' code that still exists but isn't really alive (used).

Usage Example

I found some zombie code in the login module; it's like a digital ghost town in there,' remarked Dave.
